LUSH Cleansers....the word is AWESOME!!!

My college reopened today after 2 months summer break....Frankly, it's a relief coz I don't have to go to office anymore!!

Anyways, today I'm gonna talk about Lush Cleansers. But before that, for those who are not aware of Lush, its a company that sells fresh handmade cosmetics, does not test on animals, uses recycling process for their packaging, uses no or very lil preservatives & uses 100% natural organic ingredients in their products. I personally like the fact that they mention all the ingredients on the products and you actually know what you are putting on your face and it's not like some weird chemicals you know nothing about.

So, if you wanna start using Lush, the first thing you should try in my opinion is their cleanser that suits your skin type. Lush has plenty of cleansers to offer for every skin type and they all are fabulous. These cleansers have done some amazing skin transformation work across the world and for me too of course!

I have used Aqua Marina Cleanser, Mask of Magnaminty, Angels On Bare Skin and Ocean Salt .These all are like totally AWESOME!!!!So, I’m gonna review the ones that I’ve used and m gonna tell you what I think of them….Hope you find this of help…:)

This was the first cleanser that I bought from Lush. I was just hanging out in the mall with a friend…Btw, he had got me my first Lush product – Honey, I washed the kids soap…but we’ll talk about that later…Well, what the heck! It’s the yummiest soap ever!!!I love love love it!!he he….it’s hard not to mention that. Anyways, so I passed Lush and just thought of trying something as I have read about it’s products in like hundreds of blogs. Once entering the shop, I was overwhelmed by the smells...but not in a bad way and also the products, there were so many of them!!!I couldn’t decide what to try. So, the SA came to my rescue and suggested me to try their cleanser. She showed me Aqua Marina and also demonstrated how to use it on my hand, she was really sweet. I was not sure as I couldn’t see very striking difference but anyhow I bought it just to give it a chance and OMG am I thankful I did that!

And just so you know, it isn’t any good at removing makeup, but works great as a facewash & it DOES smell a little funky but my complexion started to even out in a few days once I started using it. It was fascinating. After using it for a month, my skin was in the best condition since like EVER!! And it also removes sun tanning, so that was the best part for me :)

This cleanser is basically meant for sensitive skin but anyone can try it, it doesn’t make oily skin more oily, or dry skin more dry….it’s just soothing. As you can see in the picture, I’m almost out of it, but I would be purchasing it again to use as a morning facewash.

How to use - It is not your conventional cleanser, it comes in solid form and you have to just take a pea size amount in your palm and mix it with a very little water enough to transform it into a paste like consistency….and then apply it on your face. But this is not the way I use it coz this way, a lot of products leaks down the sink. So, what I would suggest is – wet your face, take a pea size amount of the cleanser and rub it directly on your face. It will start to melt in the water and you would feel as if you are applying milk on your face…very soothing. Massage it for 2 mins and then rinse it off. Very easy!

Overall, I would really recommend it to ppl who have sensitive skin and also to those ppl who don’t wanna take any risk and to those who just need a good value face wash.

  • Bentonite Gel,
  • Kaolin,
  • Honey
  • Ground Aduki Beans
  • Glycerine,
  • Evening Primrose Seeds
  • Peppermint Oil
  • African Marigold Oil
  • Vanilla Absolute

INDIA – Rs.420(125 gm), Rs.850(315 gm)

USA - $11.55(4.4oz), $20.45(11.1oz)

UK – £4.25(125gm), £7.50(315gm)

I actually wanted to buy a face mask but since all of them have a shelf life of just 2 weeks & they need to be kept in refrigerators, I was like nuh-uh! I’m not gonna waste my money for 2 weeks goodness & also coz I live in a PG and can’t leave costly facemasks in the refrigerator. So, the SA came to my rescue (AGAIN!) and suggested me this mask which is basically a cleanser. I liked it’s smell, very pepperminty and thought it would feel good on skin especially in this hot summer. So, I got the bigger pot. As soon as I reached home I cleaned my face and slathered it on…ahhhhhh!!! It felt so cool on the skin…the consistency is a bit thicker than you would expect but that didn’t cause any problem to me. It also has aduki beans to exfoliate which I love. And oooh oooh! it gets rid of those nasty blackheads!! After using it, your face will look cleaner and brighter.

How to use – You just slather it on your face and let it dry for 20 minutes and when you have to wash it off, wet your magnaminty face and scrub gently for 5 mins and then just wash it off completely. It is a lil messy though, so better do it in the shower.

Overall, I would recommend this product for summers, keep it in the fridge and then when you use it, you will forget all about the heat…at least your face will!!

Ingredients –

  • Ground Almonds
  • Glycerine,
  • Kaolin,
  • Water
  • Lavender Oil
  • Rose Absolute
  • Lavender Flowers

This one is THE most amazing cleanser I’ve found till date. I visited the store to get my sister a cleanser and came across this. The SA demonstrated it on my hand & OMG! The results were very strikingly clear!!!!I loved it so much that I kept it for myself (he he). You can see the difference with this one in just one use. It also has tiny scrubby bits in it and dry lavender flowers. And it smells wonderful…kinda lavender-y, I love the smell of it. It is perfect for everyday use as it scrubs very mildly and it leaves your skin beautifully moisturized and smelling lovely. It is basically for dry skin but I have combination skin and it works great for me and a friend of mine tried it who has oily skin and she liked it too…so go ahead ppl, do not deprive your face of this lavender-y goodness…It’s totally worth the money. I use it every night and I am now a proud owner of wonderful lush skin :)

How to use – Just take a double pea size amount in your palm and add a very little water to it and mix till it gets in a paste consistency. You might have to squish it, rub it and all, but eventually you’ll get the hang of it. Rub this paste on you face and massage for 2 mins, you can massage more if you have the time…the longer, the better. You can also leave it as a mask on your face for like 10 mins or so, I do that sometimes and it works great. Wash it off with warm water preferably and pat dry. THERE! You have an amazingly moisturized skin!!(but don’t forget to tone and moisturize properly….REMEMBER – Cleanse.Tone.Moisturize.Daily)

Overall, I love this product, go buy it!!!!!

Ingredients –

  • Fine Sea Salt
  • Fresh Grapefruit Infusion
  • Coarse Sea Salt
  • Stearic Acid
  • Fresh Lime Extracted in Vodka
  • Fresh Avocado Butter
  • Coconut Fat
  • Lime Oil
  • Seaweed Absolute
  • Violet Leaf Absolute
  • Glycerine

INDIA- Rs.860(120gm), Rs.1480(250gm)

USA - $19.95(4.2oz), $34.95(8.8oz)

UK – £6.10(120gm), £11.20(250gm)

This scrub cleanser is one of the BEST SELLERS as I gathered from internet(various reviews & posts) and it deserves that appreciation as I gathered from my own experience! Oh c’mon! what’s not to love – Lime! Coarse as well as Fine Sea Salt!! Vodka!!!One glance at the ingredients and I was sold!!Had to buy it you see….(vodka on my face…**giggles**). UH-MAY-ZING product!!!!!!!!

And yeah! yet again it is suitable for all skin types (except for extremely sensitive skin and skin with breakouts and pimples – may be too harsh for them), normal to dry skin ppl can use it twice or thrice a week & oily skin ppl can use it daily(Lucky You!). It softens the skin while slaying off that dead skin off your face and makes it glow beautifully. Though it could be a bit harsh so don’t go on rubbing all the way….just massage it in gently as you would do with a moisturizer.

It comes in two sizes, I got the smaller pot coz I felt that is enough to use on the face and it really goes a loooong way. If you wanna use it as a body scrub too then the bigger pot would be your pick.

How to use - First of all, before starting to use it you have to mix the whole scrub to get a gooey white paste, you can use a spatula or a spoon to do it. When I first used it on my face, the coarse sea salt just kept falling off my face and a lot of product got wasted, I guess the consistency is not thick enough to hold the big pieces in. So, I tried mixing it with AOBS (angels on bare skin) in 50:50 ratio. First I made the AOBS paste and then I scooped out an equal quantity of Ocean Salt and mixed both of them together and then used it on my face, it might get into your mouth so be careful with that, tastes salty…but the results were just WOW!!I had the most glowing complexion ever!! I use it thrice a week and I love it…I would recommend using it before you go out to party or something and yeah! Be ready to count the compliments…!!!

Overall, I would repurchase this product forever and would recommend you do the same….Pamper your skin!

So, that’s about it for Lush Cleansers. There are many more cleansers that Lush offer but I just reviewed the ones I’ve used. You can check out their website for more if you’re interested. You won’t be let down. Hope this post helped you ppl coz it took me almost 2 hrs to write it! Ah, you guys deserve it… Njoy!!
