So ppl, here's the review of the newly launched Philips Hair Straightener as promised....
The packaging -
The packaging is really compact and attractive. It has all the basic information about the straightener, it's features, etc. Not much to say here...
In the pic above you can see that this straightener gives ionic conditioning to the hairs making them even more smooth and shinier. An electronic ionizer generates negative ions, which neutralize positive ions in the atmosphere. The neutralization process seals the hair cuticle, reduces frizz and static and leaves the hair shiny.I feel that the product meets it's promises.
Also the iron has ceramic plates which is very important in a hair straightener.By including a ceramic disk in the hairdryer or putting a ceramic coating on the plates of a straightener, far-infrared heat is generated. Far-infrared heat penetrates the hair follicle, drying it from the inside out. This provides a faster, more gentle and efficient drying process. Moreover ceramic heat helps to minimize heat damage and leaves hair smooth and shiny.
The straightener itself is very handy & easy to use and what I particularly like about it is that it has round edges...this can be used to create curls, flicks, waves and what not! It is a multi-use product...for me it is an investment!
It heats up in just 30 secs upto almost 100 degrees!! And the max temperature it goes to is 210 degrees which is sufficient for styling semi-coarse hair...for more coarser hair, you will need about 400 degees..
In the pic below you can see how slim and compact it is...no fuss...
Also the round part at the bottom where the wire meets the handles, have a snap lock installed in there..so when you are not using it, you can snap it shut and make it more handy and compact for storing.
Not only this, the round part revolves too! So when you are curling your hair, only the iron plates and the handle rotates, not the whole wire..Many straightener doesn't have this feature which makes it really difficult to use and tangly...I was very happy to find that this was not the case with my new magic wand (he he!...but seriously, it's a boon for a gal like me with frizzy and wavy hairs!)
It also has a small green light which glows when the straightener is switched on...and it also has this amazing Automatic shut off feature..So if left on, it will automatically switch off after an hour!
The whole thing is damn cute and it has purple color detailings to it which is my fav color...it looks more pretty and classy in person, I promise!
Even the iron plates are purple!! **sIgh**
It is very easy to handle and operate, no fuss. I can actually straighten my whole hair in just 10 mins, not more than that, I swear!
I personally don't find any cons in this product..I love love love it! I have used it several times to straighten my hair, to create soft waves, to curl, to give my hair a bedhead look..and it never failed me!!
In fact, let me tell you an incident, I had straightened my hairs for college and it started raining that day, my hair did NOT went frizzy at all!!! Even with all that humidity and everything..!! And I even got slightly wet in the rain and my hair's top layer also got slightly wet, it was raining very lightly. I was so pissed that my hair got ruined and I was dead sure that once I reach college my hair would go all frizzy but to my utter surprise, THEY DID NOT GO FRIZZY AT ALL!!!!! I mean, I am not saying that you can get all wet out there and still your hairs would be intact but yes, if it slightly humid and even slightly raining, don't worry coz it takes care of everything!!!
Here are a few Before and After pics to make things more clear...
I am now thinking of starting hair tutorials on my blog coz lately I have been doing a lot of hairstyles and have actually started using all my heat styling tools.So...Hope you gals like it..
