Dove Root Camp Event

This monsoon I have had some major hair fall problem and when a friend suggested Dove, I started using the  Damage Therapy range of Dove which consisted of the Shampoo, Conditioner and Hair Mask. It made my hair more manageable and soft and I felt there was less hair fall. And co-incidentally, around the same time I received an invitation for a Dove Root Camp Event to be held at Shroom to introduce their new Hair Fall Rescue System. How could I not go!
The event was fantastic with a detailed presentation of hair fall rescue system while we all sipped wine and munched delicious snacks. The presentation was followed by some more drinks and food and then there was free consultation booth and a trial booth where you can try the products yourself. I have to give some credit to the PRs for excellent management and presentation.

The goodies I received in my Dove Press Kit included the Dove Hair Fall Rescue Shampoo, Dove Hair Fall Rescue Conditioner, Dove Hair Fall Rescue Intensive Root Treatment and a HP 4GB Pendrive with "Dove" engraved on it.
The whole range looks very promising and I would do a detailed post about it after I have used the range for a considerable amount of time.

If there is any particular product out of these that you want to be reviewed first, let me know in the comments below.

MOVIE WATCH: Heroine

Movie Watch is a new segment where I will talk about the latest movies that I have watched and my few words on it. This was just a random thought by A, but I was like why not! I am a huge movie junkie and I see a lot of movies so maybe I can share my thoughts and it may save or make your weekends ;)
Though I shall warn you, I am no movie critique and my reviews would be very basic, plain and simple. Basically, to-the-point. I am not going to dig too deep in the acting, direction or editing. It's just what I feel about the movie, me being an audience.

After watching this movie today, my first thought was " Aish must be so happy". Even the impeccable acting of Kareena could not save this controversial movie. With that being said....

The beginning part of the movie is the flashback tell-tale and the rest is the journey of an actress hitting new lows. The protagonist of the movie is Mahi Arora. She is an actress in the show-business who is trying to find love around her but always fails. Even after moving on from her commitment-phobic boyfriend and a very successful actor Aryan(Arjun Rampal) to a loving, caring , marriage-kind cricketer Angad(Randeep Hooda), she never finds happiness. Her career sulks and then as the movie progresses, it sulks a bit more.

New fresh competitions, brutal and ruthless media and her own insecurity along with her bipolar personality takes her downhill. Throughout the movie, she struggles between love and career. And no thanks to her self destructive actions and prone-to-depression character. Kareena plays the role beautifully, doing justice to multiple roles she enacts in one movie. A clinging girlfriend, a superstar, a depressed and defeated girl, a prostitute, every role has been enacted to perfection. She shines, smiles, cries, bawls, throws tantrums, bitches, plays coy, pouts, and looks incredible doing it all.

The movie seems very low budget with a very poor star-cast & lame dialogues and hence poor acting (except Kareena, ofcourse). It's slow, long and monotonous and sometimes becomes too repetitive. At every point when you see a light at the end of the tunnel, it turns out that there is no end to this tunnel. To say, this movie had SO much potential which was sadly left unexplored...

Kareena's makeup is beautiful throughout the movie and her skin glows to an extent where you get confused if it's photo-shopped or real. Even though there are plenty of scenes with tonnes of photoshop, I don't mind. You know why? Coz Kareena was the only thing to watch in the movie and I don't mind her looking pin perfect.

After much drama and waiting for something even slightly hopeful to happen, the movie ends. BLUNTLY ENDS!
(Argh! I hate when that happens!)

My Ratings: **
My Recommendations: How to put this mildly....

The comfort zone

{T-shirt - Zara, Leggings - Mango, Scarf/Bangles - thrifted, Shoes/ Ring - H&M, Necklace - Forever21, Bag - Stradivarius}

It was one of those days when I had to rush to college in such hurry that I hardly had time to look in the mirror. Such days, it is a better option to stick to your comfort zone and that's what I did. This loose tee and leggings with a scarf and a huge bag is going to be my staple go-to look this fall. I have already stacked up on super sized tees and looking for more cute pieces. They are comfy, easy to wear and looks super chic with a bun. Though this look is more on the sporty/comfy side, the next outfit post would be more on the lines of chic/comfy. By the end of this fall, I will make you learn A-Z of styling huge t-shirts B)

Vogue Fashion's Night Out After Party at Set'z

Between the crashed laptop, busy college schedule & celebrating the news that one of besties is getting married, I have had absolutely no time to breathe and relax! There are literally a hundred unread mails in my inbox and no time to reply. I apologize if I haven't replied back to you, I will get back to all of you shortly. And there's good news[apart from my bff, R getting married!]. My laptop has been repaired, got a call from Dell service center today only. Once I get time to collect it, I will be back on my regular posting schedule.

Now, onto the post...the experience of FNO 2012 might have been damp but the after party made up for it. I spotted many important people and it was just so much fun. Being a foodie, it was the best event ever with all the delish cuisines laid out beautifully. For the first time in my life, I felt like I had enough Sushi..lol! :P And I tried almost every dessert that they had to offer and absolutely loved the Macaroons and the cheesecakes...yummmm!!!

I will soon be posting lots of outfit posts and event posts and few reviews as well...Stay tuned!

Fashion's Night Out 2012

India's biggest fashion shopping carnival took place last Friday and as excited I was for it to be bigger and better this year, I was slightly disappointed I won't lie.The turnout was not that great in-spite of all the publicity and awareness. There was hardly any celeb spotting and the absence of good network kept the live updates at bay. It would be safe to say, last year was much much better.

Moments after we arrived, I spotted Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt on the escalators coming right up where we were standing. A managed a pic somehow before they walked past us with the speed of lightning! Though I must admit, Alia was looking very pretty in the Shantanu & Nikhil FNO T-shirt.

The long queue for the Vogue Loves shop, it was almost empty by the time I went in, there was nothing left to grab!

The After-party made up for the slightly damp experience of FNO [I will be sharing a few snippets in my next post!]
