Stripes for SS16

While the cold shoulder trend took the centerstage this season, quite excessively I might add, one major trend that has been repeatedly ignored is bold stripes. The runways were stomped with stripes in every possible way you can imagine. Be it vertical, horizontal, asymmetrical, thin, bold, colourful or monotone, stripes are definitely one of the key trends of Spring Summer 2016. I decided to pay a little homage to this trend before the season passes us by and all we are left with to remember it, is visual proofs of only the cold shoulder trend.

Fashion doesn't work like that you see. You can't conform to follow one single trend during one season but sadly, that's what happens. Especially in India, people don't understand fashion fully and that results in a new blogger being born every single hour without the knowledge or even so little an interest in knowing anything about fashion. This storm of new uneducated bloggers did affect me and made me sad how fashion is being taken as a joke lately, and I did loose my interest in blogging for a while. Although, I must add, few new bloggers have really outdone themselves and have been creating amazing content. They should be given credit for not being swamped away in this new trend of dummy bloggers.

Styling this look was a fun and interesting process. I knew I wanted to emphasize on the stripes trend but I also didn't just wanted for the outfit to be one dimensional. Layering the chic dress with a casual sweatshirt in a colour, which is also the pantone colour of the year (Serenity) created an on-trend look which can easily be worn to a poolside brunch or for dinner with friends.

I skipped adding heels as I am personally going through a phase where I am not wearing heels a lot and it is only fitting that I show you guys how you do not need heels to make an outfit look better. You can be comfortable and stylish at the same time. The shoes I chose for this look was a very cool pair by Presa Flats which states "I Don't Know" and "I Don't Care": Precisely my reaction to most of the things these days!
