Do you ever get the feeling of just leaving everything and running away? Well, I do and not because my life is stressful or I don't like the life I have. I love my life, I consider myself very lucky and blessed, surrounded by the people I love and cherish. But there are times, when the monotonous life gets to me and I want to escape the city life and submerge myself in the beauty of nature somewhere in the hills or on an isolated beach.
If you think about it, an average person's life consists of being born, studying in school, then college, then job, marriage, kids, grandkids, and the end. Especially in India, the mainstream careers being either a doctor or an engineer. I am lucky that my parents became the wind beneath my wings and whole-heartedly supported what I wanted to do professionally. But there are people who are still facing the issue of pursuing their passion due to the social stigma of a 9-5 job. People see this 9-5 job people as settled down and financially secure people while the freelance workers like us are seen as wasting our life away. Yes, being a freelance stylist and a full-time blogger is a busy life but there are days when I have no work and I am chilling at home and I get questions from my relatives that why am I not working, am I not getting enough job, etc etc. As much as I would like to tell them that I am a financially secure person, I do have savings and I do earn double the figure they do, I calm myself and just shrug the question away, sometimes out of respect but mostly because I don't think I need to explain anyone anything. As far as I am happy, that's all that matters.
I wish more people could see that earning money is not the only goal in life. You are given this life once and it's not to please others, it's to enjoy and live it fully. Do what you love, have no regrets, travel, laugh and just ignore the society. If all of us focus on making ourselves happy first, the society will automatically change because the society is made from all of us.

Once restricted to the gym-goers, the hoodie sweatshirt has risen to become a fashion staple in past couple of years. Everyone has one, be it the basic grey sweatshirt or a loud printed one. I myself love sweatshirts, I mean, who doesn't, right? My Fall staple look is leggings, long t-shirt and a hoodie with sneakers. Easy, quick and always looks stylish. Needless to say, I have collected over a dozen of sweatshirts by now but this long hoodie is by far my personal favorite. I love wearing dresses even during Fall and this hoodie has just the perfect amount of cool factor in it and it keeps you cozy, comfy and warm while still looking top notch on the style radar. I have turned several heads wearing this long hoodie and if you are into this style, go grab some from your favorite high street store! The one I am wearing is from H&M but I am pretty sure, all the stores must have similar styles!

Plaid for Fall

One of the wardrobe staples during Winter has to be the plaid shirt. I could wear it all year around but they really do look best during Fall. They are versatile and can be worn in million different ways. And don't forget they are comfortable, cozy and usually inexpensive.

While there are many ways of wearing plaid, I took the preppy route and wore it layered under a sweater and let the collars and hem peek out. This is the easiest way of adding a hint of plaid into your outfit. You could also wear a plaid shirt tucked into a bodycon skirt, or a plaid jacket layered over the classic white shirt and boyfriend jeans combo, you could do just so much with this print, the possibilities are endless, really.
I think this outfit looks really cute and laid back and not to mention super comfortable to run errands. And do not confuse the boots with those pain inducing foot killers, these are one of the most comfortable pairs I have ever come across. Randomly spotted them in the shoe section at Forever 21 and if you drop by the store, look for them, they are amazing and you won't regret spending your new shiny purple Gandhi, I promise!

Twist to the basic tracksuit

These are the days when dressing up takes the most time. What to wear so that you are not too hot during the daytime and not too cold also when the sun sets. These times call for tracksuits but if you want to take the loungewear a notch higher and wear it out for an outing with friends or a trip to the mall, its time to step out of the classic style and venture into a new zone. This combination on sweatshirt and joggers is a perfect example of the same. It does not have that basic silhouette but still is just as comfortable and even more so, stylish. It especially calls out to the funkier side in you with the bright neon colors but they are certainly not overwhelming and is borderline chic. You can run errands in this look all day long and then hit the gym in the same outfit. This is one of the main reasons why I love this athleisure trend so much.

Military Green

Military green is one of my favorite colors especially during the fall. And a whole color co-ordinated outfit in military green? Hell yes! I have been loving the suit trend and wanted to buy one for the season but then I thought, why not look inside my own closet and maybe I can find something which can help me recreate the trend and I hit jackpot! I had these denims from last season and while they have become a tad bit loose, they went perfectly with my military green blazer. I paired a longline t-shirt with side slits to cover up the loose waist and it also gave the look a cool casual vibe which gave me the liberty to finish the look with a comfortable pair of sneakers! An outfit which could be just as perfect for a mall outing as it would be for office or a coffee date with your man.

The smog

After living in Delhi as an independent girl for over 8 years, I have developed a thick skin and nothing shocks me anymore. I have seen a lot of things and went through lots of experiences which taught me to be the person I am today. But, yesterday when I had to step out and drive to an event in Noida, I was left shocked! Shocked by the smog that has filled the city. It was 2pm and it looked like a cold early January morning except it's not cold, it's not January, it's not morning and it's not f**king fog! It's pollution!

The one subject we younger generation haven't been enough bothered about because we couldn't see it and hence, never took it as an urgent and important issue has now taken the front sea and demands our attention immediately. I urge you all to please pay attention and do whatever it is you can to contribute to make the city a safer and pollution free place to live. I don't know what part you could play exactly but maybe by stopping firecrackers, smoking, doing car pooling, getting your car checked for pollution, etc we could make a teeny tiny small difference. You may think that what this little difference will do but remember, even the ocean is made of tiny drops of water. Every drop counts.

How many of you are familiar with the term "Athleisure"? If you hear yourself thinking you are not, you have come to the right place and even if you think you do, doesn't harm to learn a thing or two new, does it?

This trend can be best described as sportswear but you can wear it outside the gym. Sounds too good to be true no? Well, it sort of originated from following off-duty model style icons like Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Cara Delevingne. These girls carry their sportswear in a nonchalant chic manner which is honestly something to envy about. They will put their sweats on and tie their hair in a messy bun and will somehow still manage to look flawless. Ugh! Not all of us are blessed with a great body, hair and skin and cannot look as graceful as Kendall Jenner walking around in sports bra and yoga pants...I mean, what is up with that!

But, we all can too channel their style in our own way! Keep in mind, this trend has a high tendency of looking sloppy if not done right. So, few things to pay attention to while acing the athleisure trend:
1. Do not wear worn out pieces be it sweatshirt, leggings or shoes. The trick is to keep looking polished AND comfortable. The clothes should not be crumbled and the shoes should not be dirty.
2. Break it up and mix it up especially when you are wearing co-ordinates or tracksuit like I did here. I added a crop top to break up the monotony of the co-ordinates. Similarly, you can add maybe a flannel shirt to a tracksuit or add a leather jacket to make it more street style.
3. Dress it up by pairing a sweatshirt with a skirt or drape a bomber jacket over a dress. It's always fun to add little touches of this trend and still keep it casual and cute.
4. Don't wear the same leggings to the gym in the morning and then carry on with your day without changing out of your sweaty clothes just because it's a trend. It's for comfort, not laziness! And besides, sweaty gym clothes can give you body acne.
5. If you are going anywhere wearing your leggings besides gym, know the difference between pants and leggings. It is not okay to not cover your butt. Just tie a shirt around your waist for a quick fix!
6. Easiest way to sport this trend is to wear cute sneakers, they can be paired with denims, dresses, skirts, almost anything!

Hope this will help you guys getting on with this trend! If you have any question, do drop them in the comments section!
